Commercial lock replacement · Metro Atlanta
Commercial lock replacement for offices, stores, restaurants, warehouses and apartment buildings across metro Atlanta: worn lever locks, mortise lock bodies, cylinders and storefront locks, matched to the door's existing cutout. Free written estimate; same-day when the schedule allows.
What we do
Most business locks are replaced for one of three reasons: they are worn out, they are the wrong lock for how the door is used, or the keys are no longer under control. Each has a different answer, and not all of them need a new lock.
Lever locks on office, conference and storage doors that droop, stick or no longer latch, replaced with a lock in the function the door needs: passage, privacy, storeroom, office or classroom.
A worn mortise lock body replaced inside the pocket the door already has, so the door is not re-cut. Where the old body is no longer made, we find one that fits the existing cutout or say plainly what else has to change.
Mortise, rim and interchangeable-core cylinders replaced when the key sticks or turns loosely, or when the cylinder has been attacked. Often the lock behind it is fine, and only the cylinder needs to go.
Narrow-stile deadlocks and hook bolts on aluminum glass doors, which take their own hardware and their own cylinders. A worn storefront lock is one of the most common calls we get from retail.
Locks and cylinders that were forced, drilled or pried, replaced along with the strike and any bent trim, and the door checked for damage that would let the new lock be defeated the same way.
Several doors replaced in one visit, keyed alike or to a keying schedule you approve, so staff carry fewer keys and every door is on the same hardware.

How we work
If the lock works and the problem is who has keys, rekeying the cylinder is faster and costs less than a new lock. If the key sticks but the lock body is sound, a cylinder may be all it needs. We tell you which before quoting a whole lock, and put the options side by side in the written estimate.

Commercial doors are cut for a particular kind of lock: a mortise pocket, a bored hole, a narrow stile. A replacement that fits the existing cutout goes in cleanly. One that does not means filling and re-cutting, which is more work and does not always hold. We measure the door before we order, not after.

The new lock is keyed to your existing keys or to a new set, and we hand you every key. The latch catches on its own, the key turns smoothly from outside, and on any exit door the lock still lets people leave from inside with one motion and no key.

Why homeowners choose us
A lock replacement should fix the problem without creating a new one. On every job:

The quote
The lock is most of the number, and the door's existing prep decides which lock will fit without extra work. The written estimate names the lock for every door.

Rekey when the locks work and the problem is keys you no longer control, such as a former employee or a lost key. Replace when the lock is worn, damaged, or the wrong type for the door. Our article on rekeying versus replacing goes through it; on a visit we tell you which one each door needs.
Usually the same kind the door was made for: a cylindrical lever lock on most office and suite doors, a mortise lock where the door has the deep pocket for one, and a narrow-backset deadlock on aluminum storefront doors. Within each kind, a heavier-duty grade lasts longer on a door that opens all day. We read the door's prep and tell you which fit without new cutting.
Often, yes. When the key sticks, turns loosely or the cylinder was attacked, and the lock body behind it is sound, a new cylinder keyed to your system is all the door needs. We check the body before we recommend it.
It will if it is the same kind of lock for the same prep, which is why we measure the door before ordering. Where the old lock is no longer made, we look for one that fits the existing cutout before suggesting anything that means re-cutting the door.
Usually. We key the new cylinders to your existing key, or to a new set if you want to start fresh. Several doors can be keyed alike so staff carry one key.
Same-day when the schedule allows. We do not run an around-the-clock line and we say so up front. We replace what was forced and check the door, frame and strike so the new lock is not defeated the same way.
